Build a Masjid in Malawi – A Family Legacy of Sadaqah Jaariyah and Esaale Thawab

Our family’s roots trace back to Malawi, where our parents and grandparents lived before migrating to the UK. As we continue to benefit from the blessings Allah has given us here, we now have a chance to give back in a way that will benefit not just the people of Malawi, but also our own loved ones who have passed away.

We are raising funds to build a masjid in Malawi as Esaale Thawab and in honor of all our family members who have returned to Allah. This will be a source of sadaqah jaariyah, where every prayer, every moment of Quran recitation, and every act of worship will bring continuous reward for them and for us, InshaAllah.

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, and sadly, many Muslims there struggle to practice their faith due to a lack of facilities. A masjid will give the Muslim community a place of prayer, learning, and unity.

We need £12,000 for an 80 sqm masjid—a place that will welcome both men and women. If we come together as a family and community, this dream can become a reality.

Anyone can donate and dedicate the reward (esaale thawaab) to their own loved ones who have passed away. Sadaqah jaariyah benefits the deceased, no matter who initiates it. If you donate with this intention, Allah will grant them the blessings of this masjid too. May it be a source of ongoing reward and mercy for all our loved ones.

We will personally visit Malawi for the masjid’s opening, and all family members are welcome to join. Let’s build something that will stand long after we are gone and leave behind a lasting legacy.
